Waterloo Region software company Athena Software and Pittsburgh-based Cimend Information Systems announce the development of a new electronic claims processing tool for use with Athena's Penelope case management system. This tool allows Athena's client base of social services and behavioral health organizations in the United States to easily import 835 remittance files from payers -- indicating whether insurance claims have been paid or denied -- into the Penelope application.
