There are many cheaper cleaners, and we paid more for this one thinking it would be more powerful (based on the wattage).

SteamFast SF-475 SteamMax Garment-Plus Fabric Steamer

This is by far the best steamer I have used. I had a Conair that worked for about 6 months and then leaked on everything. This SteamFast does a fantastic job in removing wrinkles, is fast, and does not leak at all. It even works well on silk. I have no problem in highly recommending it.

1 Star Not Powerful – Cumbersome to use
This product is much larger and heavier that other products in the same category. It takes far too long to heat up and once it does, does not produce enough steam to effectively press the clothes. The water tank is fixed and difficult to fill, much less clean at a later date. We bought this for our second home and went back to a model that was more portable, stronger and had a removable water receptacle for ease of filling and cleaning.

The Steam Fast SF-475 Steam Max Garment Plus Steamer quality is that of a professional steamer at an affordable price. I have a busy lifestyle and would be lost without my Steam Fast steamer. It saves me hours of iroining and is the best steamer I have owned for removing wrinkles from delicate to permanent press garments. I’ve used it on my clothes, linens, upholstery, and curtains and have always been very satisfied with the results.

I believe that the reviewer who left negative feedback concerning the steamer filled it with too much water or didn’t follow the manufacturers instructions properly.

4 Stars Powerful and versatile
I initialy bought this steamer to steam clothes, which it does a nice job of. Be careful to keep the hose elevated when building up steam or it is liable to spray hot water out of the head end. But included with the unit was an offer for an accessory kit that lets you use it to steam clean everything from rugs to windows to countertops. I find that I use the steamer more often for these purposes (steam cleaning windows is really easy) than for getting wrinkles out of clothes. All in all it is a very versatile tool.

I have only tried to use this steamer four times. It does not produce steam. It does spray hot water everywhere. I had to be extremely careful each time I used it, because I was burned on the arm just trying to get the steamer head over to the sink. I followed the manufacturer’s instructions very carefully. I was afraid to put the maximum amount of distilled water into the steamer reservoir, because of my experience with using lesser amounts the instructions said you could use. The compay that makes this product will not refund my money, they will only try to repair it. I don’t think it is properly designed to do what the company claims. Therefore, I don’t think repairing it will solve many of it’s problems that I haven’t even mentioned.

I am quite impressed with this steamer. It does the job, but I would not recommend it for heavy duty cleaning/steaming. By the way the so called in the description “the extra large water tank” it is not so large, unless 11 ounces means “extra large” for you. I purchased this exact steamer and related attachments from CVS for $39.99 and I am pleased with the results I get for the price. However, I would have been very upset to buy this item for $123.99 as advertised by this Amazon seller (Action Packaged Inc.) and see the results I am seeing. Overall I would recommend this to my “obsessed with cleaning” friends, only if you were to pay for it what I paid.

First of all I must tell you, I found this mighty steamer at a flea market; in used once condition for $2. From the looks of many reviews I probably bought it from one of you Being that I only paid $2 I didn’t have high expectations and figured if it didn’t work I was only out a few bucks. It was the absolute best $2 I ever spent!!! I have used it in every possible cleaning situation I can think of. Works perfect every time. After reading a few reviews I had to post my comments. It sounds like many (not all) of the problems many reviewers are experiencing is of their own doing. Here are a few things that have worked for me….First, let it heat up the full 5 minutes or longer; if it is spitting water it isn’t hot enough. Second, you MUST, MUST empty & rinse this out EVERY time you use it. I also leave the cap off when I store it. If this is used, then put away with even a little leftover water in it, it will plug up on you. Salt is this babies worst enemy. A few extra minutes after each use will save you tons of time & frustration later and will keep you steaming away ; -)

4 Stars A Very Powerful Steamer-I DO recommend it!
I purchased a new T730A Steam Cleaner on Ebay recently, from a woman who had purchased two and found she didn’t need the second. I paid only $429, so got a great deal. This is a VERY powerful cleaner…I purchased it primarily for wood floor cleaning, and for this, it takes a bit of guesswork, as the floor attachment is too rough for wood, even with one cleaning cloth attached. So, I put two on, and this made it scratch-free. I also use the steamer without an attachment, as the amount of steam it creates is just what I need. I’ve used this steamer in the bathroom (REALLY cleans the tub…I didn’t know it was dirty ’till I hit it with the steamer), around the toilet and seat, fixtures, and so on. Great for sliding patio door tracks, amazing on bird cages, great on stainless steel appliances. I do not agree with the other reviewer in that the attachments are very good quality, as is the amount and quantity of steam, the ability to refill at will (although a tankful goes a LONG way), and so on. However, yes, the instruction manual could be much better…be sure to note that the dial has FOUR positions, not three as indicated…OFF, ON, STEAM RELEASE (when you want to shut down) and ALL THE WAY ON. Manual will tell you to put it on setting 3 to build steam, but that’s actually Steam Release (tho’ it never explains that setting at all!) All in all though, I really like this steamer. Compared to, let’s say, a Shark Floor Steamer (JUNK IN MY OPINION…I tried one and promptly returned it) it’s great. It reminds me of my expensive steam iron, but is even better as I need to let that completely cool prior to refilling. Oh yes…this is best used with filtered water such as from a fridge or a Brita filter to prevent calcium deposits, tho’ it does come with cleaning solution.

2 Stars Not Worth The Money
It does NOT clean grout as well as it advertises. If you get this machine, please be careful with caulking…you can damage it quite easily. Because it damaged my caulk, I found it difficult to clean my shower with it because well, there’s caulk in there and it gets dirty too!! The only thing I use it for now is to clean the outside parts of the toilet. Soap scum doesn’t come off…My windows and mirrors do not get clean. The manual is a piece of trash so even if this machine could do something, you’re on your own to find out how.

The plastic seems cheap, the attachments damage easily…It is a horrible feeling when you open the box and just know that you’ve been had. Don’t waste your money!!!

5 Stars Good little steamer
I had read pretty much all the reviews of several steamers before purchasing this one. I was tempted to buy the Jiffy but couldn’t justify the $44 price tag as I’m not a frequent traveller and was only looking for a steamer to help me get through my pile of ironing quicker. I agree with other reviews – do not overfill the tank. I found that it still spit a small bit, but the fabric I was steaming was not delicate and the spots dried without a trace. It worked great on light cotton, denim and knits. Struggled a bit on the heavier cotton/twill pants but still got most of the wrinkles out. After I got the hang of it I found that I averaged 3 – 4 cotton shirts in one tankful of water. The instructions recommend using distilled water. Overall, I’m pleased. As another reviewer commented, nothing beats the crispness of an iron, but if you’re not looking for crisp and just want to look neat and unwrinkled this is a great product.

5 Stars SteamFast is an Excellent Compact Steamer
Hello – I am in no way related to the SteamFast company. I have owned two other travel/compact steamers:

Jiffy, which makes a very good steamer as well, however, it is more than twice the money and, although I had their compact steamer for at least six years, I didn’t use it very much (as I had their industrial steamer) and recently the heater unit on it broke. So I’m not sure that their quality is so good unless I got a lemon. Additionally, the Jiffy model is slightly larger than the SteamFast model.

The other model I used was a Franzus and the only thing better about this one was it’s size. As a steamer it doesn’t perform well at all.

The SteamFast Compact Fabric Steamer SF-435W does a very good job (just as good as Jiffy, if not better) at steaming out wrinkles – it has more steaming holes than Jiffy – (though if you want a super crisp look nothing replaces an iron), it’s price is great for the quality, and it’s a bit smaller than the Jiffy. I’d like to see them make this unit at least a couple of inches smaller but it’s still a great unit. In my opinion, this unit can be used at home (especially since home units are much more expensive and take up a lot of room) or for traveling. A very good product. I highly recommend it. (I also recommend using distilled or purified water in clothes steamers whenever possible as it will extend the life of the unit.)

We purchased the SteamFast steamer for work to steam out heavey creases on fabric tradeshow banners. Voila! It works great with a little time and effort. Make sure that you don’t fill the reservoir completely to the MAX fill line, as you need to give it a little “boiling” room. Highly recommended.

It just spews water in the vapor all the time, it just gets collected in the nozzle holes and drips down on your fabric, even if you put very little water in it. Also leaves stain no matter what type of water you use, distilled, drinking, ect. And it does in no way compare to and iron, there is not crispness to it. Just a product that has not been fully designed to work properly. I would not recommend it to anyone or ever buy one of these again.
